Changelog

Your own setup screen

You can now build the whole initial setup into your product. One API call creates the deployment and returns the setup step for the cloud and method the customer picked:

lib/create-deployment.ts
const customer = new Alien({ apiKey: setupToken }) // acts for this one customer

const deployment = await customer.deployments.create({
  name, project: PROJECT, platform: "aws", setupItem: "deployment",
  setupMethod: "cloudformation", setupHandoff: "await-registration",
  installation: { region: "us-east-1" },
})

The response's installation object holds what your screen shows. For CloudFormation, it's a launchUrl that opens the AWS console with every parameter filled in. For Terraform, it's the main.tf to save. For Helm, it's the values.yaml and the install command. For the setup CLI, it's the configuration and command.

The deployment exists from the first call. Your product saves its ID and reads its status from then on, and the customer never sees the deployment portal.
